saidinesh5nh1402: why was KDE crashing the installer?10:48
nh1402saidinesh5: you tell me10:52
saidinesh5nh1402: there should probably also be the command line installer10:52
saidinesh5you can also simply install kde over openbox itself i think10:53
nh1402saidinesh5: I don't have openbox installed, I removed it and installed Cinnamon, which doesn't work.10:53
saidinesh5nh1402: no i mean from within an openbox install itself10:56
saidinesh5pacman -S kde or something like that10:56
nh1402saidinesh5: you mean on the liveusb?10:59
saidinesh5nh1402: on the live USB you have a text based installer too11:00
saidinesh5i meant from the working openbox system11:00
saidinesh5afaik even KDE uses SDDM lately. so all your other programs can sit side by side to KDE install11:00
nh1402saidinesh5: what working openbox system?11:02
saidinesh5what do you have on your system now?11:02
nh1402saidinesh5: Antergos 17.0 beta Cinnamon11:05
saidinesh5Ahh11:06
nh1402After I login via a GUI I get an error popup that cinnamon crashed and asks me to either go to fallback mode or cancel, since clicking fallback mode shows the same error again, clicking cancel leaves a blank screen. I can get to tty1 and go to the terminal and do stuff.11:06
saidinesh5odd. which graphics card do you have?11:07
nh1402nvidia 960m11:07
nh1402CPU: 6700HQ11:07
saidinesh5Ahh11:07
saidinesh5could that  be causing an issue?11:08
saidinesh5cant remember what drivers it installs..11:08
nh1402saidinesh5: https://antergos.com/blog/attention-cinnamon-users-2/11:11
saidinesh5nh1402: that was over a month ago!11:11
saidinesh5by now chances are its all fixed11:12
nh1402well it still doesn't work11:12
nh1402what's the arch equivalent of apt-get update/apt-get upgrade/apt-get dist-upgrade11:13
saidinesh5sudo pacman -Syu11:13
nh1402I'll try that when I get home.11:14
saidinesh5pacman -S = pacman Sync. pacman -Sy = apt-get update. pacman -Syu = apt-get update && apt-get upgrade11:14
saidinesh5yeah11:14
pseudodevsaidinesh5: you use arch too!?11:31
saidinesh5yeah11:31
pseudodevGnome  or cinnamon?11:32
saidinesh5kde11:32
pseudodevWhy KDE?11:32
saidinesh5kdeconnect, dolphin, kate, yakuake, kwin. killer apps11:33
pseudodevOh...I basically wanted to have a more eye candy UI so cinnamon for me...11:33
saidinesh5Ah11:33
pseudodevSai, tum kaise ho?11:34
nh1402pseudodev: I'm fine thanks, not that you asked me.11:34
saidinesh5lol11:35
pseudodevWait, you know hindi too!!11:35
pseudodevChal hindi maein baat karte hai koi samajh nahi payega :D11:35
nh1402no11:38
pseudodevnh1402: Just joking.. Obviously won't. Which divorce have you ported for?11:39
pseudodev*device11:39
nh1402technically none, but I did the initial experimentation to get krnlyng the idea for sfdroid which he then did himself, and helped with testing with one minor development contribution. I will be porting sfdroid to cm13 though once I get my dev machine going again.11:41
nh1402I have the nexus 5 for now, although I am looking at getting a new phone this year, which I'll port sailfish and then sfdroid to.11:42
pseudodevOne plus 5 should be a good device to start11:43
nh1402popularity wise probably, would like to see what else it comes with, I'm hoping they finally move the fingerprint sensor, because it's in a stupid place at the moment.11:47
pseudodevIn the front?11:47
nh1402yes11:47
nh1402I would constantly be pulling a muscle in my thumb to reach it11:48
pseudodevI always found that more handy11:48
nh1402especially with that screen size.11:48
pseudodevThat's why I bought Lenovo zuk z211:48
nh1402what pulling a muscle is more handy than having it in a more natural location?11:48
pseudodevNo, bit having it in the front was always more comfy for me11:49
pseudodev*but11:49
nh1402for me it's the worst place. the side like on the Sony phones is most ideal, although the back is fine too. Unless it's like the S8 rumoured placement11:50
nh1402the S8 is rumoured to have a massive screen, and the fingerprint sensor is supposedly next to the camera, which is high up on the back of the phone, you wouldn't be able to reach it!.11:51
pseudodevZuk z2 is really good for me.11:51
pseudodev5-inch screen11:51
pseudodevLow bevels... Easier to reach the sensor11:51
nh1402Sony in my opinion do everything right bar a few things, moving the NFC reader to the front of the phone, WHY on earth would you do that, makes it next to useless how can you tell when something is gone through if you're covering the screen when using the NFC reader.11:52
pseudodevNever used NFC...11:53
nh1402I use it for wireless payments very handy,  the other issues with Sony's is the price being astronomically high, the build materials, they snuck in a plastic frame on the XZ which is exorbitantly expensive.11:55
nh1402the other thing is they have reduced the battery size since the Xperia Z2 which had a mammoth 3200mah battery, now it's 2900 I think.11:55
nh1402and the last thing is it would be preferable if they used AMOLED screens instead of LCD.11:56
pseudodevSamsung?11:58
nh1402Sony11:59
pseudodevI mean, you could also try Samsung12:00
pseudodevIt has that Samsung pay if paying via NFC is your priority12:01
nh1402I was considering the S8, but it sounds like they are a putting a disgustingly huge screen on it.12:01
nh1402Samsung Pay and Android Pay doesn't work with the bank I'm with, they force you to use their own app.12:01
pseudodevWhich bank?12:03
nh1402the other thing with Samsung phones is that it's more difficult to get Sailfish working on them, due to Knox and using their own SoC12:03
nh1402Sony are much more open, and so are Oneplus12:04
NotKitnh1402, so you can pay through your bank app with NFC?12:05
nh1402NotKit: yes, but not in Sfdroid, yet.12:06
nh1402NotKit: although I suspect you were asking about through sfdroid12:27
NotKitno12:27

nh1402neerad: have you tried meeting the dependency?12:30
neeradnh1402 How to do that ?12:31
nh1402no idea12:31
neeradDid that error came to you?12:31
nh1402NotKit: I was about to say what about the Oneplus 2, then realised they didn't add one for some reason.12:31
nh1402neerad: not that I remember, maybe it's in a different location on your device?12:32
neeradnh1402 I think sluggish behavior is not due to low RAM but rather related to inputflinger or surfaceflinger or sfdroid_renderer itself12:32
NotKitmaybe because it's not used that much in China12:32
NotKitAliPay has a simplier way to pay with showing QR code on device screen instead12:33
nh1402NotKit: but they ship worldwide, they can't solely be looking at China12:33
neeradkrnlyng_ How to solve sluggish behavior of sfdroid ?12:33
neeradmal You got any ideas about this?12:34
nh1402NotKit: also, Android Pay was announced earlier that year I think, so in the US it (NFC usage) was about to pick up.12:34
nh1402neerad: what gpu does your device have?12:38

neeradCPU is 1.4GHz on overclock, while default is 1.2GHz max.12:40
neeradQuad Core12:40
neeradXiaomi Redmi 2 is the device name12:40
nh1402neerad: maybe it's a 64bit issue? NotKit is that possible?12:41
neerad64-bit issue?. But neither CM nor SFOS is 64-bit12:41
neeradalthough hardware supports it12:41
nh1402oh12:42
neeradRAM is 1GB12:42
neeradAlthough another variant comes in 2GB as well, that's why I have requested XDA members to report back for 2GB variant if SFDROID sluggish on 2GB as well or not?12:43
malneerad: is the RAM full?12:45

malneerad: not right now, have you looked at cpu usage, anything showing high values?19:16
neeradmal That problem is slightly corrected once I maxed out the CPU on all 4 cores and increased performance based tuning on build.prop and default.prop19:17
neeradSlowness is reduced to a certain extent sure, it can't get all smooth because either I have to disable useless services in SFDROID or SFOS19:18
neeradThe real problem is call audio won't work somehow it is rerouted to SFDROID... which shoudn't happen19:19
neeradmal krnlyng_ saidinesh5 How to remove audio services altogether from SFDROID19:28
neeradFor the time being19:28
malneerad: there is probably some service running, like audioflinger19:32
krnlyng_neerad, disable audio_flinger from android19:32
krnlyng_neerad, but i am not sure if it will boot19:32
neeradmal I can disable that in frameworks/av/media/mediaserver/main_mediaserver.cpp19:32
neeradkrnlyng_ I will also have to disable mediaserver service in init.sfdroid.rc19:33
krnlyng_neerad, no that probably won'T work19:36

neeradkrnlyng_ basically do you have any idea of this error?19:36
neeradkrnlyng_ audio call should work but is somehow is enabled19:37
krnlyng_neerad, no because my phone has no speaker19:37
neeradto android19:37
krnlyng_noworking speaker*19:37
krnlyng_neerad, disable audio_flinger only19:37
neeradNot just speaker not even handset mode works19:37
neeradnot works*19:37
neeradlet's try that19:37
krnlyng_and maybe audio_flinger.policy or what it is called19:37
neeradI can't find any service audioflinger19:42
neeradkrnlyng_19:42
krnlyng_neerad, it is in frameworks/av/media/mediaserver/main_mediaserver.cpp19:48
neeradyeah I have already seen in I have disabled it and rebuilding it right now19:49
neeradBut alongwith that I think I need to shutdown the mediaserver started by init.sfdroid.rc19:49
krnlyng_no19:57
neeradYeah I have tried that krnlyng_ but CM needs that service ... It's stuck with waiting for mediaserver service19:57
krnlyng_neerad, well you can try19:57
krnlyng_ok19:58
neeradSo yeah that failed without the patch for Audioflinger I will try with the patch for Audioflinger19:58
krnlyng_if it works let me know i have a user with a similar issue19:58
