Mister_MagisterYou know that shit got serious when jolla is donating you :D10:44
TeguI wonder when would landscape mode in SDL apps be supported. Apparently, there is some patch that is merged, and I suppose it has finally been released in SDL 2.0.6 whereas the version in the repos is 2.0.3. https://together.jolla.com/question/70821/request-support-sdl-landscape-mode/  On the other hand, it's not really that important.10:51
Tegu(for me)10:51
r0kk3rzoh it was merged?10:51
r0kk3rzwe've been waiting an age for that10:51

TeguI'm not sure how to read the Hg logs, but I assume that the next version after that merge would contain the patch. And the next version (2.0.6) happened to be released only 5 weeks ago according to https://hg.libsdl.org/SDL and 2.0.5 was released a little before the patch10:55
Mister_MagisterTegu: well you can always make patch yourself if you can :D10:55
Teguyea, that would require recompiling SDL2 :P10:56
Mister_Magisterwhat is a problem then :D10:56
Tegulazyness :D and the fact that it's not so important for me10:56
Mister_Magisterfor me too but it's annoying a bit10:57
Mister_MagisterTegu: with what are you using SDL2?10:57
*** ecksun_ <ecksun_!~xun@h-60-73.A213.priv.bahnhof.se> has left #sailfishos10:57
Tegujust playing with LÖVE in the device once in a while. nothing serious.10:58
Mister_MagisterTegu: ah okay. I once succesfully built app with oxygine engine and that's nice for making games and it's using sdl210:59
r0kk3rzTegu: build it on obs10:59
r0kk3rzor at least update that TJC saying a release with it has been created11:01
Tegubut then I wonder how the newer SDL should be deployed. should it be linked statically with LÖVE so that it does not interfere with the SDL in the repos. or could the repo version somehow be overriden (which sounds a bit unsafe and one can just hope that it doesn't break something else)11:01
Tegucan the Hg be traced somehow to see where that patch ended up? I'm unfamiliar with it11:02

kriskohi all, I've just instaled sailfish for the first time few days ago. So far I'm very impressed and I look forward to improvements comming in next updates12:16
r0kk3rzkrisko: how are you finding it?12:16
kriskoits great I love it :D I bought xperia x and tested the comunity version for a day and then I bought the SFOSX12:17
kriskobut what bothers me is the netive mail app performance12:18
Mister_Magisterkrisko: native email app is imo the best12:18
r0kk3rzyes unfortunately i dont think there are any community developed alternatives for that one12:18
Mister_Magisteri was missing that good app on android12:18
kriskowhen opening and scrolling through emails, it's not smooth at all12:18
r0kk3rzthats an xperia x bug i think12:19
Mister_Magisterfor me it is smooth12:19
r0kk3rzbecause the mail client uses the webkit browser engine12:19
Mister_Magisterr0kk3rz: he is talking about scrolling through emails12:19
Mister_Magisternot viewing them12:19
Mister_Magistersmooth for me has to be xperiax bug12:21
r0kk3rziirc there was some general performance bugs with the xperia x as well12:21
r0kk3rzbut its still early days yet12:21
Mister_Magisterr0kk3rz: due to big.LITTLE.SHIT12:23

YasigiWalterleszek: hi! Any chance that LibreSignal will work on Sailfish X?13:34
YasigiWalterleszek: (with many thanks for your maintenance of it, so far)13:34
leszekYasigiWalter: just use the normal Signal from their official site. This one works fine with Alien Dalvik as they don't require GCM anymore13:35
YasigiWalterleszek: ah, so this will be the end of the Jolla Edition?13:36
leszekyeah. I am not planning on updating the apk13:36
YasigiWalterOk, thanks for that info13:36
leszekmoxie isn't pleased by having the name Signal in it and threatens to block it anyways13:37
YasigiWalterSigh13:39
YasigiWalterMoxie might benefit from learning to live and let live13:39
YasigiWalterEither way, it was a stumbling block for me migrating from my Intex Aquafish to the Experia X13:40
r0kk3rzhe doesnt want to have to rely upon third-party developers to keep up with any changes in Signal13:40
r0kk3rzits understandable, if a little hard line13:40
YasigiWalterr0kk3rz: Yes, he's written fairly eloquently about that. I just do not agree.13:40
r0kk3rzsame13:41
YasigiWalterAnd there's a rather big difference between not supporting forks and actively threatening to block them13:41

escogidoFWIW, I installed fp2-sibon-17.10.2 and it seems MMS works fine so far. Maybe an updated modem firmware has an impact? Or maybe an issue with sailfish for fp2. Regardless, I'll be back to sailfish periodically to check in. Dual boot would be nice.14:03
escogidoThere is some issue with battery usage and newer firmware on fp2 + sfos 2.0.5.6 alpha3?14:05
escogidoMaybe I should/could try installing sailfish 2.0.5.6 a3 over the top of the firmware I got from the newer fp open.14:07

pketo_juhaj: I fixed the config and it should offer 2.0.5.6 from the UI if you check for updates again22:47
juhajOk, Haapajoki successfully installed22:49
juhajYes, it did, for a second until it realised it already IS at 2.0.5.6 :)22:49
juhaj(I installed it from terminal by hand)22:49

juhajOk, looks better: now the GUI at least knows what the size of Kiiminkijoki update is22:50
juhajAnd the download does not fail as early as before (it may not fail at all – it's still going)22:51

juhajpketo_: Since I seem to have bumped into someone with inside connections :) can you tell me if content recovery (from time before borked 2.1.2.3 update and a factory reset) is possible or feasible? I have scp -r of the root filesystem (which I took while in recovery mode and I could rsync -vau back) and also a tarball of all of /home22:53
juhajuntarring /home back should be fine for user data, but what about installed apps etc? I also note that android software is on /home on AquaFish, so will the untar actually bring all of those back?22:55

juhajOk, 2.1.2.3 updating now (using GUI)23:19
pketo_juhaj: I would not try to restore the root fs, stuff under /home might work but not sure about that either23:26
