nickg222Hi all. Now that Jolla have provided instructions on how to flash an Xperia device from Linux, I decided to switch over to an Xperia X device from my old Fairphone 2 also running Sailfish. I now have Sailfish on the Xperia X and want to move my data from the old Fairphone 2 over.13:32
nickg222I don't have a memory card to hand, and I don't want to use Dropbox. Instead I have a Thinkpad running Ubuntu, and a USB cable. After using Settings->Backup from the GUI to make a backup, I enabled developer mode on both devices and used SSH to copy the /home/nemo/.vault directory over to the Thinkpad, and then from there to the Xperia X. I thought I would then be able to go to Settings->Backup on the Xperia X and see the backu13:35
nickg222Instead, after selecting Settings->Backup, the GUI tells me "There is no memory card or cloud storage account". I never had either of those on the Fairphone 2, but the GUI allowed me to make a backup without telling me off for not having either of those things. Can anyone help me restore my data on my new device?13:35

r0kk3rzyeah, newer kernel, bluez517:56
hahlook17:56
hahlowill nfc work later?17:57
r0kk3rzit depends on how jolla wants to make it work, the kernel doesnt really have support for the NFC chip17:58
r0kk3rzso they could integrate android libnfc, or write a kernel driver for it17:58
hahlook I see17:59
r0kk3rzsame kinda deal with the fingerprint sensor, theres no clear way to go about it18:00
hahlook18:01
malr0kk3rz: through libhybris it should not be too difficult18:05
r0kk3rzyeah if they want to go down that road18:06
malof course native way would be better but not sure how easy18:07
r0kk3rzon the nfc side the hci driver for the earlier version doesnt look that difficult18:07
hahlon9 has somekind of nfc too18:07

nickg222I thought I'd switch from Notes to using a text editor, but it looks like Editor and TinyEdit have problems saving files on the latest version of Sailfish18:58
nickg222So it looks like I'm stuck with Notes for new notes, my old notes will be on my laptop, and once a text editor is available I'll switch to that18:58
