jpnurmibtw, why do i need to open a project to be able to launch the sdk?13:10
kaltsijpnurmi: the "grand idea" behind qt creator is that eventually the mer/sailfish stuff would be part of upstream qtcreator and you could choose to create any kind of a project and other than sailfish projects don't need the sailfish virtual machines13:11
kaltsiyou can also use the virtualbox manager program to start or stop the machines13:12

baltaHi, I have a problem binding the Silica Switch checked property to a C++ property. I have a Q_PROPERTY with READ, WRITE and NOTIFY set, and if I use this property for Switch.checked in QML the READ method of the property is called as intended and used for the switch state, but if if click on this switch the WRITE method is not called. Is the binding not in both directions? If I add an onCheckedChanged to set the C++ property it is13:55

M4rtinKbalta: where it first showed middle of nowhere in the country you were in and then the actual position19:09
M4rtinKbalta: of course as long as you can detect such outdated fix (IIRC should be doable using the timestamp)19:10
baltaI've never hat a N9, coming from Symbian, but it should set the "valid-properties" of the position to false while it is waiting for the fix19:10
baltaand the timestamp is the current one, even if it has not found a fix...19:10
M4rtinKoh, that's not very good19:11
baltaeven worse: while waiting you get a position update with current timestamp every 30 seconds19:11
baltathe only way to detect if a fix is found would be the SateliteInfo, if this would work...19:12
M4rtinKthat reminds me that there doesn't seem to be an easy no fix/2D/3D fix detection19:12
baltaI'm wondering how the gps icon on the lockscreen detects it... ;)19:13

artemmaAnybody installed the latest SDK? Is there something useful besides the harbour checker script?21:24
tortoisedocquestion21:24
* artemma is hesitating to reinstall just for a checker script21:24
tortoisedocif I want to put qml file in plugin21:24
tortoisedoci use qrc://main.qml to access it correct?21:25
kaltsiartemma: it's only available as an update inside the sdk.. what's your current version of the sdk installer?21:25
artemmakaltsi: version of installer? I don't know. One that was included to SDK21:26
artemmaBuilt on Dec 16 2013 at 13:04:1521:26
artemmathat's what creator's About dialog tells21:26
kaltsiartemma: in other words, if you used installer that was released in December .. the "1312" installer, there's nothing to reinstall.. that is still the latest installer21:26
kaltsithat is the latest published qt creator version at least21:27
artemmahmm, actually updater tells "No updates available" anyway21:27
artemmastrange though21:27
*** leszek has quit IRC21:27
artemmamaybe full reinstall is needed21:27
kaltsihow about the "sdk control center" icon21:27
kaltsithis checker script is not distributed via the updater application21:28
coderustortoisedoc: you really need to use qrc?21:28
artemmakaltsi: I giess you mean SailfishOS tab in creator. What about it?21:28
tortoisedoccoderus : how otherwise can I place qml in plugin?21:28
kaltsiartemma: yes that tab.. it has 'updates' section21:28
coderusbut yes, if you didnt set any aliases in qrc you can use it with qrc:/prefix21:28
SiddeI installed the sdk in december and i got the update when i started it yesterday21:29
coderustortoisedoc: what problems in placing it as file?21:29
artemmakaltsi: yes, it has "Update engine" button. And yes some updates are available21:29
tortoisedocbetter packaging21:29
tortoisedocno problem otherwise21:29
kaltsiartemma: yep, if you click on that button, you'll get the updates21:29
artemmastill the same question though :) : is there anything useful in latest SDK update beyond the checker script21:29
kaltsithat's the only update21:29
* artemma doesn't want to update just for the checker21:29
coderusqrc will enlarge amount of virtual memory allocated by binary21:30

coderusqrtqml is not safe place for hiding :)21:31
tortoisedoccoderus / artemma : it is really just about packaging21:31
coderustortoisedoc: set aliases in qrc21:31
coderusand access qrc files by aliases21:31
Siddeis it possible to give the mer-sdk virtual machine more cpu in virtualbox without breaking anything? It has 1 cpu today and i'll guess it builds things faster with more cpu?21:31
tortoisedoccoderus : hmm21:31
artemmacoderus: yeah, qrc is no obfuscation, but still will require a bit of work from hacker rather than just coying from file system21:31
coderustortoisedoc: but i see no reason why it not working for you21:32
artemmahmm, if Sailfish becomes popular, I guess there will be some demand for QML obfuscators BTW :)21:32
kaltsiSidde: you can try it, also you can increase memory up to 2 gigs (if more, the shared folders break)21:32
coderustortoisedoc: can you show your qrc index and how you accessing it21:32
artemmaor maybe likes of Digia provide obfuscators already now21:32
tortoisedoccoderus : / with /qml/main.qml under it21:33
Siddekaltsi: i think i will try it. But the bottleneck might be in the communication so i'm not that optimistic that it will go faster to build and run on the phone21:33
tortoisedocand access is21:33
tortoisedocqrc:/qml/main.qml21:33
tortoisedocartemma : any obfuscation will need deobfuscation21:33
kaltsiSidde: I did some tests, but they were quite disappointing .. but hope it works better for you21:33
