x2sSo, I hope this is the right channel to ask. I'm thinking about buying an Xperia X soon, to replace my old N9. How easy is it to flash SailfishX to it from Linux? And how well does Bluetooth work, because I need it for my car09:40
r0kk3rzbt is a bit sketchy, it might work with your car, it might not09:42
r0kk3rzflashing is not so bad so long as you remember to update android via OTA before unlocking the bootloader09:43
*** SfietKonstantinW <SfietKonstantinW!c2623324@gateway/web/cgi-irc/kiwiirc.com/ip.194.98.51.36> has joined #sailfishos09:44
leszekx2s: seen my flashing video? On first try it took my 30 minutes appr. If you take a look at that video and don't do the same mistake I did, probably you can get it flashed in 20mins. However you need to first upgrade the Xperia X to the latest Android version which might take some time depending on which version it is when you get it09:46
leszekbt works fine for playing back sound as far as I know. As for car and bt. It is problematic. But that is problematic with every OS and car manufactorer09:46
leszek*manufacturer09:47
x2sleszek: not yet, but found it already. Usually I look for written guides, not videos, so I didn't stumble upon it before09:51

Acou_Basshey guys, are there any guides out there for getting my xperia X back to 'stock'? i think i might have to return it and i doubt the retailer will be too happy if i return it with sailfish on it :D09:56
LarstiQAcou_Bass: not that a retailer should just accept a used phone and leave it at that10:02

Acou_Basswell its faulty10:03
Acou_Basssoo yep, hes having it back10:03
Acou_Bassits been faulty since the day i got it too (had it ~2 weeks)10:04
x2shttps://jolla.com/sailfishx-linux-instructions/ so, it looks like the unofficial guide got somewhat official :)10:04
Acou_Bassits either faulty or im getting a bug that no one else seems to be having with sailfish X relating to the battery :P10:05
LarstiQAcou_Bass: I mean that with a used phone there can be privacy sensitive stuff on it, so a retailer should wipe it in any case10:05
Acou_Bassoh yeah true10:05
Acou_Basswell still10:05
r0kk3rzAcou_Bass: flash it with emma/flashtool back to android10:05
Acou_Bassid rather just flash it to stock before returning10:05
LarstiQAcou_Bass: sure, it's also better to make sure yourself than to trust others do it correctly :)10:06
Acou_Basshmmm dont have a windows PC... but emma looks like itll re-lock the bootloader too so may have to find a spare PC to stick it on XD10:06
Acou_BassLarstiQ: bingo!10:06
r0kk3rzit wont relock the bootloader10:06
Acou_Bassunless emma runs in wine :D10:06
Acou_Basshmm som guides said it did10:06
r0kk3rzits never done that for me10:07
Acou_Bassthen again sony says it doesnt, so i trust them more than random internets10:07
r0kk3rzthe only way to relock is to put the TA partition back10:07
r0kk3rzafaik10:07

King_DuckZ:(16:51
King_DuckZmy gf's getting the xperia x, she's waiting to receive it16:51
King_DuckZI heard it's good16:53
r0kk3rzid be too tempted to just run android on it16:53
King_DuckZyou mean lineageos? or the stock android??17:00
r0kk3rzthe stock sony android is quite reasonable17:00
ilpianistaI went for lineageos17:00
King_DuckZuhm did you not see all the articles and stuff about all the personal data android collects about you?17:01
r0kk3rzof course i did :P17:01
King_DuckZand? you're happy with the wiretap in your house?17:01
r0kk3rzwe lost that battle a long time ago now17:02
King_DuckZthat doesn't mean you should just give up17:02
r0kk3rzpeople are buying amazon echo things hand over fist17:02
r0kk3rzits done, its over17:03
King_DuckZlol just thinking that somebody is definitely listening to whatever I say *in my house's privacy* gives me the creeps17:03
r0kk3rzmy suggestion is to get used to it, because surveilance is *everywhere* now17:04
King_DuckZthat's not an excuse for helping spreading it - you help the wiretapper's cause *and* you give away whoever lives with you17:05
ilpianistaKing_DuckZ: well, that's only if you use gapps17:05
King_DuckZilpianista: it seems the OS itself tracks your gps position all the time, plus other things17:06
ilpianistasource please?17:06
King_DuckZmy gf found a well-hidden page that google is obliged to provide on the internet apparently, in there they showed lots of the private data they collected on her17:07
King_DuckZthere was stuff like her workplace, her commute, her days off... all deduced from her gps position17:08
ilpianistaagain, that's google17:08
King_DuckZlike, a stalker's treasure chest17:08
ilpianistalineageos is provided without any google app17:08
King_DuckZilpianista: yes, I *think* lineageos is clean, I'm talking to r0kk3rz about the vanilla android17:09
ilpianistalineageos even removed last (three or four) closed source applications that were used in cyanogenmod17:10
ilpianistahowever, back on sailfishos, I just need to support every MPRIS interface17:10
ilpianistathe problem is: if I find more then one, which one should I use?!17:11
King_DuckZlet me think... is it hard to ask the user to select one, when it happens?17:12
King_DuckZor maybe just the first? is it even possible to have two players going at the same time?17:12

ilpianistawell, you are right, I assume Lyrics should care only about the one being played17:14
King_DuckZboth ways allow the user to "select" the song the want to lookup17:14
