maheartCan anyone confirm if the "mb2" tool actually uses the "Source0" directive in the RPM spec file (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_create_an_RPM_package#SPEC_file_overview). I've tried setting "Source0" to both a local .tar.gz file, AND a URL from which one can download the .tar.gz -- in both cases running %setup does not download anything from the URL, or extract the local .tar.gz10:28
maheartAt this point, I suspect Source0, and Patch0 are not used, because having the %patch directive in the .spec file, does not patch the source as expected.10:30
maheartI guess it's obvious mb2 != rpmbuild :P10:30
maheartthanks anyway guys, if you have any info, please shout out10:30

Ingvixhow exactly do I create translation for my app?13:58
IngvixDo I need the Qt Linguist or can it be done easily with Qt Creator?13:58
r0kk3rzIngvix: qt creator is all you need13:58
r0kk3rzyou first need to tag all your strings13:59
IngvixI have done that13:59
kimmoliyou can do actual translation texts with linqvist, or transifex or whatnot13:59
kimmolimake engineering english for defaults e.g.14:00
kimmoliwhich is updated when you add new strings to code14:00
kimmoliand use comments //! #! or what #% was it before the tagged string14:01
r0kk3rzIngvix: then all you need is a couple of things in your .pro14:01
r0kk3rzIngvix: and remember that running the app debug from qtc keeps locale as 'C' which wont show translations14:01
IngvixOkay, I'm still a bit confused but I guess I check those apps kimmoli mentioned and try to get the hang of it14:04

r0kk3rzIngvix: you need it to spit out the .ts files before you can do anything14:05
r0kk3rzthey're just xml, and you can manage those with a whole bunch of other tooling if you choose14:06
IngvixI know. I'm trying to figure out how to create those14:06
kimmolihttps://github.com/kimmoli/tohkbd2/blob/master/settings-ui/qml/pages/AboutPage.qml#L10814:06
kimmolii use that way to make engineering-english14:06
kimmolihttps://github.com/kimmoli/tohkbd2/blob/master/settings-ui/settings-ui.pro#L1514:06
kimmolithis this in pro to update engineering-english14:07
kimmoliproblem here is that you can do this in too many different ways14:07
kimmolithis is not the way sailfish demo project does it14:07
IngvixI currently have a basic english translation in qsTr() in my code14:08
kimmoliengineering-english is the used as source in transifex, where i get the other language .ts files14:08
kimmoliso it is not id-based then14:08
Ingvixno, not right now at least14:09
r0kk3rzIngvix: from memory you just create them, alter the lang code and add to .pro14:09
kimmolithen, forget what i said...14:09
r0kk3rzthen it should regen them whenever your app builds14:10
kimmolifor rpm, you need .qm files, generated from .ts files14:10

Ingvixso can I generate an example .ts file somehow which I can easily edit for translation?14:12
bonfusHi. I noticed that there is no gst-launch-1.0 on my jolla so I patched that tool and created the rpm. Could it be useful to anybody or there's already a package providing it? (I did not actually search repos or the internet)14:12
Ingvixor do I have to create them by hand?14:30
kimmoliIngvix: lupdate iirc creates them14:32
kimmoliif not, you can just make empty xml with first tags, and then it should update.14:32
kimmoliunless just touch turunmurre.ts isnt enouhg14:33
IngvixI read about that lupdate but I'm not really sure where to put it. Somewhere in qtcreator?14:35
kimmoliin .pro, for example like this https://github.com/kimmoli/tohkbd2/blob/master/settings-ui/settings-ui.pro#L1514:35
Ingvixoh, so it creates them when it's build?14:36
kimmolifor me, that creates just the engineering-english one14:36
kimmolirest are made in transifex14:37
Ingvixyes, I just want a file that contains the words to be translated so I can easily edit them14:37

Ingvixor at least I think I do, if I have not misunderstood this process and it can be done more easily14:43
r0kk3rzIngvix: if you have one .ts file you can just copy it and rename a few things14:43
r0kk3rzadd it to the pro file14:43
IngvixSo I thought14:43
Ingvixso just have to generate one14:44
r0kk3rzyeah, if you dont have one you might need to create a blank empty file and put it in the pro14:44
r0kk3rzand it should fill it out upon build14:44
Ingvixoh, so I don't have to add lupdate command to pro to create one?14:45
IngvixI shall try14:45
r0kk3rzim not sure on that14:46
r0kk3rzi think the demo app already has one14:46
r0kk3rzbut i never had to do any lupdate shenannigans14:47
r0kk3rzyeah i see, kimmoli is doing it a more standard Qt way14:49
r0kk3rzwhere as I am doing it the sailfish way14:49

olFor those who's interested in secure private IPv6 networking, I've ported cjdns to Sailfish OS: https://build.merproject.org/project/monitor/home:ol:cjdns18:00

r0kk3rzol: oh nice18:06
olAlthough cjdns is written in C, it uses some strange build system written in JavaScript, so most of porting efforts were spent on building and packaging NodeJS and some NPM packages.18:10
olAs a result, I have working NodeJS for Sailfish OS: https://build.merproject.org/project/monitor/home:ol:nodejs18:12
olAll packages are based on Fedora ones with some modifications.18:17
olBut I still have one unresolved question regarding cjdns on Sailfish OS. The original systemd service file for cjdns from Fedora has the following directive inside:18:28
olCapabilityBoundingSet=CAP_NET_ADMIN CAP_NET_RAW CAP_SETUID CAP_SETGID CAP_SYS_CHROOT CAP_AUDIT_CONTROL18:28

olSome experimentation revealed that one more capability is needed to make it open /dev/net/tun: CAP_DAC_OVERRIDE.18:32
olWhat kind of DAC is used on Jolla C that prevents opening /dev/net/tun?18:33
