#nemomobile log for Friday, 2020-06-12

rinigusMorning! Just saw few replies that were not there last night on matrix side. Something is broken in this channel, as irc logs seem to show messages from matrix side only (see logs at merproject).05:34
rinigusSergey Игоревич Chupligin : while sms issue can go to the corresponding project, where would you add qqc2 styling discussion? I'd still suggest to make separate repo at GitHub for those (call main if want to have docs there was well or issues if for issues only)05:38
riniguswill continue the monologue on this side. glacier-sms does not exist, as far as I can see on https://github.com/nemomobile-ux06:25
rinigusit also seems that the controls have not been moved to -ux06:26
rinigusfrom looking into kirigami and nemo specs (https://github.com/qwazix/glacier-controls-spec): I would expect that its largly overlapping and should allow using kirigami on nemo side.06:44
riniguskirigami currently doesn't allow to style the header, as far as I remember, but we can add new header type if needed. nemo's header spec is rather elaborate, not sure it has to be that complicated - at least not from the beginning. however, as in nemo, kirigami has concept of header actions and those would fit perfectly to make the action buttons on the header.06:44
rinigusthat's just an example and I am sure it is possible to work with that framework and with qqc2 styling. there maybe some corner cases, but it would become evident while implementing styles.06:44
rinigushowever, the advantage is a shared codebase with plasma mobile. (will read your replies tomorrow, I presume)06:44
rinigusSergey Игоревич Chupligin ^06:44
rinigusMatthias: and just got your reply. ~8 hours later. that's the first reply to my message on matrix.org side. btw, looks like matrix room is organized via disroot.org, if I read its address right. don't know whether https://disroot.org/en/blog/matrix-closure is up to date, but if it is, maybe its time to move matrix side of the room?14:55
rinigusas there is no such issue with sailfish rooms (bridged irc/telegram)14:56
rinigusSergey Игоревич Chupligin: ok, I'll then use qtquickcontrols-nemo for components discussion16:42
rinigusWith qt 5.12 update, do you keep compatibility with sfos components? I guess not and is a point where users should switch fully, right? As no silica software, no proprietary components and software...16:44
rinigusSergey Игоревич Chupligin: cannot file issues at https://github.com/nemomobile-ux/qtquickcontrols-nemo . please enable it18:18
PureTryOut[m]<rinigus "Matthias: and just got your repl"> only the main alias is disroot.org. There isn  a single server that "organizes" a room, that is not how federation or Matrix works20:07
PureTryOut[m]> <@rinigus:matrix.org> Matthias: and just got your reply. ~8 hours later. that's the first reply to my message on matrix.org side. btw, looks like matrix room is organized via disroot.org, if I read its address right. don't know whether https://disroot.org/en/blog/matrix-closure is up to date, but if it is, maybe its time to move matrix side of the room?20:07
PureTryOut[m] * only the main alias is disroot.org. There isn't a single server that "organizes" a room, that is not how federation or Matrix works20:07
PureTryOut[m]if disroot.org goes down (which it probably eventually will because they want to get rid of Matrix), this room will continue existing and working. People just can't join via #nemo:disroot.org anymore and have to use a different alias20:09
rinigusSergey Игоревич Chupligin: thanks!20:10
rinigusPureTryOut: there is definetly some issue with matrix side. and also logs via IRC. there seem to be no messages from telegram side in the logs, for example.20:12
PureTryOut[m]Since you are on matrix.org it'd be good if you add a #nemo:matrix.org alias to the room20:13
rinigusPureTryOut: how would you do that?20:40
rinigusPureTryOut: looks like #nemo:matrix.org is taken. #nemomobile:matrix.org was free, so I added as a local alias. let's see if it is of any use21:01
