hurglburgok, someone tried 3.4rc2 with omapdrm enabled, libdrm 2.4.33, ofono 1.5, connman 0.79 together in a nemo image for n900? when I see http://elinux.org/N900, I think the mainlinekernel with omap-ssi patch looks good in theory and could replace meego 2.6.37 version, no? (In case nobody is awake, I'll read the logs later so just answer if I'm not in chat anymore)01:36
*** ronoc has joined #nemomobile01:37
hurglburgmight this work? "vram=12M omapfb.rotate_type=0 omapdss.def_disp=lcd" instead of "omapfb.vram=0:2M,1:2M,2:2M" in kernel config?01:42
hurglburgomapfb.video_mode=800x480MR-16@6001:47
hurglburgif nobody tried yet, is someone willing to give it a try? I'd like to do it myself but I can figure out how to build a image with custom stuff with mer/nemomobile.... I might be stupid.01:54
hurglburgthere is a  general oldconfig for omap3430 that works with 3.4rc2: http://www.arm.linux.org.uk/developer/build/file.php?type=seed&idx=0 shouldn't be to hard to enable missing rx-51 stuff.02:00

Sageok, so my main problem with the nexus seems to be unstable kernel :/05:41
Stskeepsprobably due to our fiq debugging, really05:41
Stskeepsand OTG clashing05:41
Stskeepsthe sooner you can get a usb networking up the betteer05:41
dm8tbryes, I've had similar problems on archos hardware05:42
dm8tbrthere I had console enabled on a device that was not necessarily active. that made kernel puke and panic05:42
SageStskeeps: I removed as much OTG I could already and it started to be a bit better05:42
Sagedisabled CONFIG_FIQ_DEBUGGER_CONSOLE_DEFAULT_ENABLE and CONFIG_FIQ_DEBUGGER_NO_SLEEP and it seems to boot fine05:48
SageStskeeps: I wonder how I can get usb gadget working as I need to have the serial on mUSB connector and when I have that I can't get the usb0 interface up right?05:54
Stskeepscorrect05:54
Sageso need to have script in boot that does it and hope for the best05:54
Stskeepsalso, cheat, and fb_update_mode doupdate and framebuffer console..05:54
Sagewithout keyboard?05:55
Stskeepsyes, but for seeing error messages from usb0 setup :)05:55
Sagebtw, the nemo splash comes without the fb_update_mode thingy05:56
Stskeepsinteresting05:56
Stskeepsmaybe it has a fb_update_mode thing in there05:56
SageAnd I don't have Xorg even starting (masked uxlaunch)05:56
* Sage build image with connman-test and vim :)06:00
Stskeepsi presume that nexus doesn't do OTG?06:01
Sageno idea about that06:06

Stskeepshurglburg: if you're good enough for doing kernel compiles, it's fairly easy to make a custom image06:10

hurglburgtoo bad. I hoped someone here would be interested. I mean, since the mainline kernel seems pretty much finished regarding rx-51 someone might want to have this updated.06:14
Stskeepsit is, but it probably lacks a lot of things06:14
Stskeepslike power management06:14
hurglburgwhy?06:14
Stskeepsbecause that hasn't been properly upstreamed for OMAP in general yet06:14
the-bossphaeron lbt sage stskeeps SR#4729 Accepted promotion request06:14
marquiz_morn06:16
hurglburg3.4 had a merge regarding power management. omap3/4.06:16
Stskeepsinteresting06:16
marquiz_Sage: you were pretty quick in reviewing my sr ;)06:16
Sagemarquiz_: morning, someone kicked boss and it started to review :)06:16
hurglburgthey took some optimiziations for omap3 out though.06:17
Sagemarquiz_: well, I trust those are mainly ok if boss says so :)06:17
marquiz_heh06:17
Sagemarquiz_: many of my checks are build-in to boss :)06:17
marquiz_i finally found the time to fix packaging and submit the moslo stuff06:17
Stskeepshurglburg: well, the story is that the 'official' time where we had nokia-sponsored team here is now over since end of feb06:17
Stskeepshurglburg: and we haven't had kernel coders since time before that too06:18
hurglburgwell, since there isn't much todo anymore besides one (mabye three) patches and the config you wouldn't really need a kernel coder.06:19
the-bossphaeron lbt sage stskeeps SR#4730 Accepted promotion request06:20
* Sage though that the sgx is like 80 patches06:20
Stskeepshurglburg: add SGX on top of that, yeah..06:20
Stskeepshurglburg: take a look at how many patches we have to 2.6.3706:20

hurglburgwell, I don't this this patches matter and should be fixed in mainline. I mean there had been some changes since 2.6.37... about sgx, the TI git or the gfx package should be tried on 3.4 (I think 3.2 is official supported) and the new kernel patch. I am more interested in omapdrm.06:30
hurglburg...dont't think this patches...06:31
hurglburg...it should be fixed....06:31
Stskeepswell, give it a try06:31
the-bossphaeron lbt sage stskeeps SR#4734 Rejected promotion request06:34
Stskeepsand try to see if it even boots06:34
hurglburgwell, I do. I need a better toolchain and I'm waiting for new yocto release. in your case you have access to this mer obs, and should be able to test it pretty fast yourself, don't you? Don't tell me you never compiled a kernel yourself.06:35
hurglburghad 3.2 booting on n900.06:35
Stskeepsi have, but to be frank, i don't have that much time to work on it :)06:35
Stskeepswe'll gladly guide you to be able to do it06:35
hurglburgnow, come on. what is there to guide? get source, patch omap-iss, complete config, compile.06:37
Stskeepsi was talking about packaging up a kernel in OBS :)06:37
Stskeepsand there's no 'mer obs', just for good measure..06:37

hurglburgok, what is there to do, to packing up a kernel in obs?06:39
Stskeepshurglburg: get a meego.com account and prod 'lbt' for it to be enabled in build.pub.meego.com (community obs)06:40

Stskeepshurglburg: prod = to poke someone with a stick, / ask them06:45
Stskeeps:P06:45
hurglburglbt: Stskeeps want me to poke you with a stick to enable me on build.pub.meego.com to build a kernel for n900 he doesn't feel like having time for.06:47
Stskeepshurglburg: it's more along lines of that i am very busy with generic Mer stuff right now, i'm no longer working with this stuff in an official capacity and my skillset in kernel is very low06:48
Stskeepsand i'm hoping to enable people in the community to work on this stuff06:48
hurglburgStskeeps: I thought n900 is mer stuff.06:50
hurglburgby the way, ofono is old06:53
Stskeepsthat part we know, which is something we're looking at in mer06:53
Stskeepsmer's a core without hardware adaptation and uis, nemo project hosts the n900,n950/n9 hardware adaptation06:53
hurglburgI probably wait longer for lbt the you might need time to build that kernel.06:59

Stskeepsand see how far it gets in bootup07:03
hurglburgwaiting for yocto update for local build.07:04
hurglburglike I said, got 3.2 kernel booting already, a few weeks ago without any patches.07:06
Stskeepsok, but booting is half of the problem07:06
hurglburgI know, but with 3.4 there isn't much more todo, I assume.07:08
Stskeepssecond part is modem interfacing, working with camera, power management (and working, without crashing)07:08
hurglburg3.2 was pretty stable, no segfaults or stuff. with 3.4 there is hsi-framework. camera I don't really know. the power management should be ok, at least at a testable level.07:11
hurglburgok, seems like more then three patches might be neccesary for mainline kernel. still, not much.07:17
hurglburgtired of waiting.07:18
