frojndHi there.09:04
frojndI will just ask here. Maybe I'll get an answer :) So leather magnetic case just arrived for XA2 Plus and what I noticed is that when I close cover... Display won't go off... In settings I have User flip clover to control display. Well I had enabled even befor I got the case... Any ideas?09:06
malfrojnd: it should be working, does the cover have the magnet in correct place?10:26
frojndmal: not sure where is the "correct" place?10:26
frojndI ordered it from aliexpress10:27
malfrojnd: at least on normal xa2 the sensor is in bottom left corner, I just tested an it works on my device10:30
frojndI have xa2 plus10:31
malso try with some magnet and see where it is10:31
frojndOk10:31
frojndOk in the case theh placed it on the right side but xa2 plus has it on the botton center maybe10:36
frojndLover left corner as well10:42
henkI recently noticed that the "People" app was disimproved and almost couldn’t believe it. Some time ago I noticed that it’s not possible to add a new contact without (First Name or Last Name), which is already just stupid design. I don’t know anyone by name with most companies I want to save as a contact.10:51
henkI thought it was possible and was really surprised when it wasn’t but I didn’t know for sure that it had been possible at some point. Then, more recently, I tried calling a restaurant which I know I had saved in my phone and it was just gone. The phone just silently dropped saved contacts which did neither have a first nor a last name saved. And that is just really, _really_ bad for the user.10:53
hahloI have problem with email client for some unknown reason it won't accept my mail accounts :P11:03
ender|henk: yeah, the People changes were mostly negative11:14
ender|scrolling through user list is much worse now as well11:14
FireFlyI found it really nice that SFOS used t not require first/last name for contacts, since I often add people by just nick11:18
henkAnd my main problem with such things is: nowhere to really report it to …11:19
FireFlythrow it at tjc and hope for the best?11:20
henkFireFly: That’s my issue: "hope for the best" … So far what I’ve seen on TJC is other people saying they have the same problem and giving each other emotional support and workarounds that may or may not work.11:22
FireFlyyeah11:23
FireFly(I agree)11:23
henk"My phone loses connectivity" "Uninstalling whatsapp helped solve it for me" "Interesting, I don’t even have whatsapp installed"11:23
henkgreat11:23
henkReminds me very much of ubuntu forums11:23
tadzikI think that's true for any forum on the internet11:28
tadzikI tried flashing my galaxy yesterday using samsung's weird tool, wouldn't work and someone said "worked for me when I chmod +x'd the recovery file"11:29
tadzikI thought "what an idiot would even suggest something like that". I tried it. It worked.11:29
tadzikSometimes software "works" in mysterious ways11:29
henklol, I agree on the "works in mysterious ways" part but it’s always someone who made it work that way, intentionally or not. And that’s why bugtrackers and support are important. A commercial product without any way to get support (and I mean "proper" support, not community support) for it, should not be allowed to exist IMHO.11:32
henk(In that case meaning that I will not buy another jolla product because it stinks and no one cares)11:33
tadzikwell, have you tried actually contacting customer support instead of the community forums?11:34
tadzikthey do have that too11:34
tadzikhttps://jolla.com/support/11:35
henkHa! True, I forgot about that. Even though I actually have already tried that about two years ago and got this reply »thank you for your observation and report. You are quite right in that the important link for raising a request on customer care is missing from https://jolla.com/support/.« :D I shall use that, thank you11:38
tadzik:D11:38
tadzikI have positive experiences with the support, though I mostly raised questions related to my account etc, not really technical issues with the OS itself11:38
henkYeah, I kinda expect to be pointed to TJC … But I should definitely try.11:39
henkmeh, google captcha to make a support request even when they require me to give my jolla account name …12:01

paumh.. the last self-update of aptoide installed something that looks bogus. I removed it and cannot find aptoide in the jolla store anymore?16:48
paplus im getting the missing rfkill 0.0.3 plugin error again, after the system update16:48
Tegupa: the release notes had something about aptoide16:49
mkolmanpa: in short, it looks like the developer account that was doing aptoide updates got taken over by some malicious entity that publish either malware or something close to it as aptoide store update17:49
mkolmanbased on how the aptoide package actually got to Jolla Store, this might be a side effect of a lrger attach, not necessarily something targeting Sailfish OS directly17:50
pamkolman: aha interesting17:51
paso i actually updated the thing, and got me some store in spanish17:52
pathat wanted me to login17:52
pai then removed the app immediately17:52
pamay i have compromised my system?17:52
pa(i updated the app in aptoide itself, i had the old version of it)17:52
mkolmanhopefully not17:54
mkolmanthis is the full release note:17:55
mkolmanAs of now, the **Aptoide Store** app in Jolla Store has been hidden (temporarily, we hope) as it tends to pull in a fake update (appearing by names Zappy Market or Applicaciones). Furthermore, it seems that the Facebook app can get an update from Aptoide which converts it to another fake app Facebook Watch. So:17:55
mkolman- please do not install updates for Android apps from Aptoide for now (this is being handled)17:55
mkolman- please do not use Aptoide at all17:55
mkolman- consider using alternative Android stores, e.g. APKpure.com17:55
mkolmanthe weird market app might have been some mistake or automation error17:55
mkolmanbut the fake Facebook app looks like an actual attack17:56
mkolmanunfortunately17:56
payes aplicaciones17:57
pai didn't install or update anything through it17:57
paok so hopefully no harm17:57
pathanks!17:57
mkolmannp :)17:57
